What is Robots-as-a-Service?
A commercial model in which the using company does not buy the robots but rather leases them from the manucturer or dealer, typically for a monthly fee. This is an attrative model especially for companies such as retailers that have a high volume peak season for perhaps three months, allowing them to scale up the number of robots just for the period they are required. This arrangement is much more common for order picking and related processes in distribution and much less common in manufacturing environments, where volumes are typically more stable.
