What is Collision Avoidance?

Collision avoidance in robotics refers to approaches or actions that a robot is programmed to take to avoid collisions with other robots, operators, or other infrastructure.  Collision avoidance is enabled by sophisticated algorithms that draw on data from sensors such as cameras, lidars, ultrasonic or touch.
