What is a Warehouse Control System (WCS)?
A type of software that manages the flow of goods in an automated material handling system. In a conveyor/sortation system a WCS managers induction, merges, diverts, mechanized zone picking and more. A WCS may also be used to manage the flow of goods into and out of other material handling systems, such as a an AS/RS or goods-to-person system. Will also typically provide dashboards to monitor MHE system performance.
